Deimos | In Greek mythology, he is the god of Dread.  The name is one Kari employs when she speaks of the man who murdered Jemail al-Nasiri and who continues to haunt her.  She does not know his identity.

Sterling Armitage  |  Former corporate lawyer.  Commodore of the Lucerna Yacht Club.  Member of Rayneval's Governing Council. 

Tahar Cavallería  |  Kari's half-brother.  Heads an NGO that assists Sahrawis now living in Algerian refugee camps. Also runs a clandestine operation that supplies arms and other assistance to Sabra Qadira's FLS.

Tamara Santillana  |  Historian. In the Eternity's Sunrise cycle, she is associated with CNAS, the Centre for North American Studies at Rayneval University.  In the subsequent cycles, she is teaching at Yale.

Theresa Imperatore  |  Head of Lava-Ströme International (an international private intelligence firm with headquarters in London).  Malory's sometime employer.  He usually refers to her as "the Contessa."

Toby Pritchard  |  Doctoral student in history at Rayneval University. Sailor, tennis player, and all-round athlete.

Xiu Shuxian  |  Engineer trained at MIT. Employed as Hans Eric Ramm's personal assistant.

Zuni Kashani  |  Classical scholar.  Specialist in the libraries of the ancient world.  Taught Malory at Oxford and later at Cambridge.
