Charles Marriott is a writer presently living in Ontario, Canada.
He was born in Alberta in 1947, and grew up in Calgary. Charles was educated at the University of Calgary and at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He departed academia having earned two master's degrees, one in Electrical Engineering and the other in Economics.
After graduating from Northwestern, Charles went to Ottawa to work for Canada's federal government. He started as a policy analyst at the Treasury Board, and in due course became a senior executive, with management responsibilities in two departments, Energy and Environment.
